What are organisational values and why do they matter?

Organisational values lay a strong foundation for your company and should be at the core of each employees working environment. It is critical for organisations to invest time into, not only identifying and articulating their values, but also solidifying and continuously embodying them from the top down.

Values are unique to each organisation, but should all:

  • be based on principals the organisation and its employees stand for
  • embody common beliefs and attitudes
  • set standards of behaviour.

How do you know if you need a Values Activation program? Ask yourself these questions:

  • Do you and your teams know your organisational values and what they stand for?
  • How well do people within the company resonate with your values?
  • Can you point to specific behaviours that express values?
  • Do you develop skills that underpin values?
  • Can you easily describe how the organisational values translate into guiding principles and standards for employees? Can this easily be seen in the working environment?

The PX Values Activation Program

We were incredibly excited to launch our Values Activation Program in 2022. Our program starts with exercises to identify the key values that are currently being lived out in a business (regardless of what your stated values are), as well as values necessary to take the business forward.

We then demonstrate how to develop these values into leading capacities before inviting all employees and teams together to integrate the activation and streamline it throughout teams and the organisation as a whole.

To have an impact on your business, values must be embedded within everything you do, evident in daily actions and interactions. This will build a strong culture that underpins high performance.
