Terms and Conditions – PNG Salary Survey

Peopleconnexion has partnered with 3x employers (Air Niugini Limited, Theodist and Vodafone PNG) to sponsor 3x grand prizes to be won, exclusively to be promoted in the final week of the salary survey data collection phase. These three prizes are in addition to the final prize in Peopleconnexion's standard Salary Survey prize (K500 voucher). These gifts supplied by the listed companies are in partnership with Peopleconnexion PNG, exclusive to the promotion of the 2024/25 Salary Survey.

The Terms and Conditions relevant to this grand prize promotion is as follows:

  • Participants must complete the Salary Survey before the extended deadline of midnight on May 6 2024, and provide accurate contact details in the final question to be eligible for the prize draw.
  • Only one entry per participant is allowed; multiple survey completions by the same individual will not result in additional entries. Those who have already completed the survey but have not yet won a prize are also eligible and will automatically be listed in the draw.
  • Eligibility is limited to individuals currently employed in Papua New Guinea (PNG), whether as locals or expatriates, within the white-collar industries specified on https://www.peopleconnexion.com/png-salary-survey-2024-25
  • Participants should refer to this list prior to participating.
  • The prize draw will take place on May 8 2024, unless stipulated otherwise, and winners will be notified directly by Peopleconnexion PNG. Winners or entrants are not to directly contact the listed sponsors about this promotion.
  • Only the four successful winners will receive prizes (one prize each).
  • Peopleconnexion reserves the right to verify the eligibility of participants and to disqualify any entries that do not adhere to the stated terms and conditions.
  • By participating in the survey and entering the prize draw, participants agree to abide by these terms and conditions.

General

  2. Information on how to enter and prizes forms part of the terms of entry. Full completion of the survey and the inclusion of a name, valid email address and/or phone number is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  3. To the extent of any inconsistency between the Terms and Conditions and any other reference to this competition, these Terms and Conditions will prevail.

Who can enter

  1. Subject to clauses 5 and 6, entry is open to all professionals over the age of 18, as at the date of entry, who have fulfilled the requirements set out below (Eligible Entrants).
  2. An Eligible Entrant is a professional over the age of 18, as at the date of entry, who is currently participating in formal employment in Papua New Guinea, for a local or international entity. Entries pertaining to salary and employment data in countries, sovereign states, associated states or territories other than Papua New Guinea will be considered invalid entries by the Promoter.
  3. Employees, and their immediate families, of the Promoter are not eligible to enter this competition. Immediately family includes the following: spouse, ex-spouse, defacto spouse, child, step child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step parent, brother step brother, sister, step sister, grandparent, step grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew or first cousin.

When to enter

  1. There will be 6 x 500PGK vouchers to be won over the duration of the competition that will be drawn each fortnight from February 2024, up until the end of the competition, Date TBC.
  2. The time of entry will be the time the online entry is received by Peopleconnexion PNG (via submission to SurveyMonkey), not at the time of transmission by entrant.
  3. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any late, misdirected, lost or invalid entries including survey completions not received by the Promoter due to technical disruptions, network complications, or any other reason.

How to enter

  1. Eligible Entrants can enter the competition by completing the PNG Salary Survey and including a name, valid email address and/or phone number in their entry. The Promoter is not responsible for any cost incurred by an entrant in submitting their entry. The cost of accessing the website will be dependent on the entrant’s Internet Service Provider.
  2. By submitting an entry into this competition, entrants, unless they opt-out, consent to receive promotional and other marketing messages from the Promoter (including messages sent electronically for an unlimited period of time). Entrants are able to opt out at any time by replying ‘STOP’ to any email communication, or following instructions included in the footer of email correspondence.
  3. To be considered a valid entry, entrants must include a name and valid email address and/or phone number, to be eligible to win.
  4. Entrants may only enter their own name. Any entry that is made on behalf of a third party will be deemed invalid, unless the third party requires the assistance of a third party to enter due to a disability.
  5. Any entries that are deemed by the Promoter (at the Promoter’s discretion) as incomplete, illegible or incomprehensible may be deemed invalid.
  6. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, submits an entry not in accordance with the Terms and Conditions, or who has, at the discretion and opinion of the Promoter, engaged in the submission of an entry which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive, untrue or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the Promoter and this competition. This includes, but is not limited to, entrants and households submitting multiple entries using multiple email addresses.
  7. Entrants are required to take full responsibility for the content of their entry and ensuring the entry complies with these Terms and Conditions. By entering this competition, entrants accept and acknowledge full responsibility for their decision to participate in this prize should they be chosen as winners.
  8. The winners release the promoter and other organisers, their related bodies corporate, affiliates, officers, agents and employees, from all liabilities, loss and damage of any kind arising at any time out of or in connection with the acceptance of, and participation in, the prize. Without limiting the foregoing, the released parties not be liable for any injury, sickness or death, property loss or damage or other direct or indirect loss or damage of any kind, howsoever sustained or incurred, in connection with or arising out of the prize or any other aspect of the prize.

Number of entries permitted

  1. Entrants may only enter once. An entrant’s first entry will be considered as their only entry to the competition. Only one prize will be awarded per entrant.

Draw and notification of prize winners

  1. The Six winners will be a selection of randomised entries from the fortnightly duration.
  2. The Promoter may reschedule or delay the dates of the prize draw due to insufficient response or an extension to the length of the promotion. The prize draws will be rescheduled to a later date at the discretion of the Promoter.
  3. The Promoter will ensure that all entries have an equal chance of winning a prize.
  4. The prizes will be drawn by random selection from the entries submitted within the timeframe pertaining to the particular prize (outlined in clause 20).
  5. The winner will be notified by email and/or phone within two business days of the draw. Should the winner fail to respond to attempts by the Promoter to contact them within five (5) business days, the winner forfeits their entire prize. After this period, the prize will be considered unclaimed and will undergo another random draw.
  6. The winners’ names will also be published within five business days of the date of draw pertaining to them, on the Peopleconnexion website and social media channels.
  7. Should an entrant’s contact details change during the promotional period, it is the entrant’s responsibility to notify the Promoter. A request to access or modify information in an entry should be directed to the Promoter at admin@peopleconnexion.com
  8. The prize will be awarded to the person named in the entry, given they satisfy the Terms and Conditions of the promotion. In a dispute, the prize will be awarded to the person whose information comprises the salary and/or employment information used to submit the entry.
  9. Prizes will be sent within 28 days of the winner’s confirmation of choice of gift voucher.
  10. The Promoter’s decision is final. The Promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the competition result or any other decisions the Promoter makes in connection with the promotion.

Prize

  1. The total prize pool is valued at K3,000 (including GST). Six winners will receive: 1 x gift voucher worth 500PGK.
  2. The gift voucher of the winner’s choosing will be issued in Papua New Guinea Kina.
  3. Independent financial advice should be sought as tax implications may arise as a result of accepting the prize.
  4. Prizes cannot be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash.
  5. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and the prize supplier’s (i.e.: supplier of the gift voucher) requirements. It is the responsibility of the winner to confirm such conditions with the prize supplier or other relevant third parties.
  6. The Promoter is not responsible for the quality of products and/or services purchased with the value of the prize.
  7. Once awarded, the Promoter is not liable for any prize that has been lost, stolen, forged, damaged or tampered with in any way.

Privacy of data collection

  1. By submitting an entry, entrants agree to have their personal information provided entered into a database where the Promoter may use the entrant’s names, email addresses and telephone numbers for future correspondence, promotional or marketing messages.
  2. All information is collected in accordance with Peopleconnexion’s Privacy Policy, available in the link attached.

Intellectual property

  1. All entries and the data they contain, become the intellectual property of the Promoter. The Promoter collects personal information about you for the purposes of conducting the salary survey. This information will be disclosed only in aggregate, in accordance with these terms and conditions and relevant legislation.
  2. All entries and any copyright within the entries become and remain the property of the Promoter once submitted, who may publish and/or commercialise analytics or insights pertaining to aggregate information collected during the course of the promotion, at their discretion. The Promoter will make every effort to ensure individual respondents are not identifiable in any way.

Additional terms and conditions

Regarding invalid methods of entry:
  1. Any entrant found to have used a third party (including online competition entry site) to enteron their behalf will have all entries invalidated and any claim they have to any prize will be invalidated. If such an entrant is awarded a prize and then found to have breached this clause, the entrant must immediately return any prize awarded. The Promoter has sole discretion to determine if this clause has been breached by any entrant. The Promoter reserves the right to request whatever documentation it deems necessary to confirm if the entrant has breached this clause. An entrant must provide any requested documentation to the Promoter upon request. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who provides false information or who seeks to gain an unfair advantage or to manipulate this competition.
Regarding incorrect contact details:
  1. Any entrant found to be entering incorrect contact details, including incorrect email contact details, will have all entries invalidated and any claim to any prize will be invalidated. If such an entrant is awarded a prize and then found to have breached this clause, the entrant must immediately return any prize awarded. The Promoter has sole discretion to determine if this clause has been breached by any entrant. The Promoter reserves the right to request whatever documentation it deems necessary to confirm if the entrant has breached this clause. An entrant must provide any requested documentation to the Promoter upon request.
Regarding prize unavailability:
  1. If the prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value, subject to relevant legislation. Cash will not be awarded as a substitute. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and prize supplier's requirements. Each prize must be taken as stated and no compensation will be payable if a winner is unable to use the prize as stated.
Regarding prize delivery:
  1. The Promoter highly recommends a current residential street address be provided when requested for ease of correspondence and potential prize delivery. The Promoter makes all reasonable efforts to deliver prizes to the addresses provided by competition entrants. The Promoter cannot guarantee that any prizes returned to the Promoter due to non-delivery at the provided address will be re-sent to the prize winner.
Regarding proof of identification for the purposes of prize collection:
  1. The Promoter reserves the right to request winners to sign a winner's deed of release (and indemnification) or any other relevant forms or agreements that the Promoter deems necessary, to provide proof of identity, proof of age, proof of residency at the nominated prize delivery address and/or proof of entry validity (including phone bill) in order to claim a prize. Proof of identification, residency, age and entry considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter. In the event that a winner cannot provide suitable proof, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered.
Regarding liability:
  1. In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to technical failures, natural disasters or acts of God, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to any directions given under relevant Papua New Guinea regulations.
  2. Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) is not responsible for and excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter's control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by a winner or Entrant; or (f) use of a prize The Promoter (including its' officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits or opportunity), expense, damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person's negligence) in connection with this competition including taking or using a prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law). Any change in value of the prize occurring between the publishing date and date the prize is claimed is not the responsibility of the Promoter.
