Peopleconnexion awards Kina Bank’s leaders in Coaching for Leaders program

Last week, we were humbled to conclude our 12-month Coaching for Leaders program with Kina Bank. The program was concluded at a ceremony where we recognised and awarded members of their staff in their dedication and commitment to the program.

Representing Peopleconnexion, Country Manager, Stephen Mead, attended the awarding to congratulate the participants, and Kina Bank themselves, for their commitment to developing their staff in crucial skills.

The program was initiated following Kina Bank’s engagement of Peopleconnexion to run an Employee Engagement Survey to identity learning and development needs. Hearing from their staff through an Employee Engagement Survey allowed Kina’s HR team to identify the need to improve their internal development of talent and the depth of leadership within the organisation.

The primary objective of our Coaching for Leaders program is to create a ripple effect throughout the organisation. That is why the Kina Bank participants included not only seniors and managers, but key junior staff. Our ripple effect is about coaching, and being coached, to build high-performing and dynamic teams.

[The Coaching for Leaders program] is an effective way to create a “ripple effect” throughout the business; where coaching, helping others, and unlocking potentials is woven into the fabric of a team’s culture. In addition, management starts to think like people leaders by using the skills to continually engage with their teams on a daily basis”, said Akino Wano, General Manager, People & Culture, Kina Bank.

Led by Peopleconnexion Training Consultant, Anne Poole, the participants at Kina entered the program with the fundamentals for a successful coaching skillset – commitment, engagement and transparency.

Anne commended the participants for not only bringing these to each session, but on how the groups’ engagement opened up space for honest, transparent and supportive interactions with each other, which was the key take away.

‘’One particular section in the coaching session on self-awareness that stood out for me as a coach is that, before we go out and ask people to do the right thing, we have to self-reflect and asses ourselves first. Once that is sorted out, then we are able to lead and guide those around us,’’ said Martina Toulogu, program participant.

’I managed to resolve an issue, applying the skills I learnt from the training, with one of our officers. The officer is now settled and I am satisfied’’, said Clifford Riroriro, program participant.

Kina Bank has engaged Peopleconnexion in our recruitment services, in addition to rolling out their employee engagement survey, and we are humbled that they continue to place trust in our services, now in developing their people. We also congratulate Kina not only in their engagement in identifying their learning and development needs, but in committing to and investing in solutions such as the Coaching for Leaders program.

It is always humbling to be a part of someone’s professional learning and development journey, and we got to meet some fascinating individuals who are passionate about the work they get to do in their community.

Congratulations to each of the program participants!
