$5.4 billion reasons to be optimistic about Cross River Rail

It’s official, Queensland is lifting the lid on Cross River Rail.

Yesterday’s announcement revealed some formidable teams shortlisted for the project’s two packages, finally placing the full delivery phase and Cross River Rail job opportunities in sight.

There is without a shadow of doubt that some highly experienced and capable teams are vying for pole position, hoping for the chance to deliver South-East Queensland’s biggest infrastructure project of the last decade.

For the PPP package (Tunnels, Stations and Commercial development), the shortlist includes consortia team Pulse, team Qonnect and team Centriq.

For the Rail Integration and Systems package we have the Unity alliance and the RiverCity Alliance shortlisted. Looking at the makeup of each team, it is easy to see why they were selected.

In terms of Cross River Rail’s current project stage (tender design), we have pretty much every engineering consultancy in Brisbane teamed in on this project. Some have a large local presence, but some will need to rely on interstate and international support to deliver the design of these packages.

As we all know, this is a landmark project for Brisbane and will present career-defining opportunities for those that wish to be involved on Cross River Rail.

We have already assisted a number of client organisations as they build capability for the tender design stage. However once the project is fully awarded, this is going to create some great opportunities for people to get involved.

Key design requirements will include:

  • Design Managers
  • Geotechnical Engineers
  • Tunnelling Engineers
  • Civil Engineers ? Track/Utilities/Infrastructure
  • Structural Engineers
  • OHW/Traction Power Engineers
  • Signalling Engineers ? ETCS L2/CBTC
  • System Integration Engineers

If you are interested in becoming involved on this ground-breaking project, we would welcome expressions of interest from suitably qualified professionals.

We have also set up a group on LinkedIn where we will post updates about the project, latest news and current staffing requirements.

You can join the group here: https://www.linkedin.com/groups/10370637/profile

We would welcome interest from people either currently based in Brisbane or interstate and international candidates looking to take advantage of the benefits of working and living in the Sunshine state.
