THE BRIEF

A leading PNG-based group needed a successor for their long-serving Director of Finance (Hospitality Division), who was retiring after 18 years. The priority wasn’t just technical capability, it was finding someone the Managing Director could trust, with a structured three-month handover to protect business continuity.

We had an existing relationship across both the hospitality and construction divisions of the group. OUR APPROACH

We ran a fully targeted search, with no advertising and no job boards. Over approximately three months, we mapped the senior finance market directly, engaged over 50 candidates, and refined a shortlist of eight strong options. Throughout the process, we worked in close collaboration with the MD and outgoing Director to calibrate on both capability and personal fit.

THE OUTCOME

A successor was successfully appointed and is now transitioning into the role under the agreed three-month handover plan. The outgoing Director concluded his 18-year tenure with full confidence in the appointment, and in the future of the finance function he built.
