In October, our resident Resource Consultant, Cameron Kiki, was invited to present at IBSUniversity\u2019s (IBSU) Employability Skills Training event, held at IBSU\u2019s Saraga\/College Campus, from 18 to 21 October.<\/p>\n

The training covered almost 20 topics to prepare students for their imminent departure from study and in to the job market. With everything from goal setting, self-esteem management and communication, to workplace behaviours, corporate etiquette and team dynamics.<\/p>\n

Cameron took to the stage to speak to Southern Cross University (SCU) and IBSU\u2019s final year students about Interview Skills, presenting Peopleconnexion\u2019s Interview Guide<\/a>, which is embedded within our Career Transition Program. \u00a0Take a look at the video attached above for a sneak peek of our tips!<\/p>\n

Cameron himself is not too far removed from where his audience were seated, having been a student just a few years\u2019 ago. In fact, Cameron returned from his presentation thrilled, as he turned out presenting to many of his fellow students he studied with, before he began at Peopleconnexion.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo present to them, and for them to learn something from me since I left, makes me feel proud of myself from going through the transition of being a student to now an employee in the workforce. For me to deliver a presentation of my first-hand experience back to them is a highlight, if I can do it, they certainly can too once they enter the corporate world.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n

Cameron spoke of being a student saying, \u201cAs a [recent] student myself, I wish I had been given the insights, skills and knowledge that are now accessible to me working in the HR and Recruitment industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is important to understand your strengths and weaknesses and know how to effectively market yourself to future employers, especially when in interview scenarios.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
